As a materials engineer, you will engage in both study and detailed design projects. This role entails taking on the discipline responsibility for materials within the project.
Key duties include:
- Evaluating optimal material solutions for pipes, valves, and equipment
- Overseeing procurement packages and supplier relations
- Conducting discipline checks of certificates and procedures for materials, welding, NDT, and surface treatment
- Providing advice and evaluations on materials and corrosion-related damage mechanisms
- Creating documentation and reports
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in materials technology or a related field
- Significant relevant experience can substitute for formal education
Required Work Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience with maintenance and modification work
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of offshore process systems
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as PTIL, NORSOK, and API standards
