Job responsibilities:
- Identify and select stress critical lines from Process P&IDs based on NORSOK guidelines.
- Perform comprehensive stress analysis on critical piping systems on an offshore oil & gas platform such as compressor and pump lines, flare systems, flow-lines etc by use of Caesar II software.
- Through visual checks or by hand calculations, identify flexibility and pipe support requirements for non-critical lines.
- Perform detailed checking of calculations made by other stress engineers.
- Maintain close cooperation with other disciplines such as piping layout, pipe supports, structural, construction etc in implementing an optimal design.
- Perform calculations and qualify various piping components including flanges, fittings and nozzles as per relevant standards such as ASME, API, NEMA-SM23.
- Perform dynamic calculations involving slugging, surge, fatigue.
- Perform screening exercises for potential vibrations in all systems and implement mitigating solutions.
Education:
• Bachelor’s or Masters degree
Work Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of several required standards such as API, ASME, NEMA-SM23, etc.
- Good knowledge and experience in Norwegian standards (NORSOK, DNV) and Client Technical Requirements (Equinor, AkerBP) is highly preferred.
- Good multi discipline understanding.
- Cooperative working attitude and acceptance of multicultural working teams.
