Job Responsibilities:
As a Materials Engineer, you will be involved in both the study and detailed engineering phases of projects. This position includes the responsibility for material discipline within the project.
Examples of tasks include:
- Evaluating optimal material choices for pipes, valves, and equipment
- Monitoring procurement packages and supplier performance
- Discipline review of certificates and procedures related to materials, welding, NDT, and surface treatment
- Providing advice and assessment on materials and corrosion-related damage mechanisms
- Preparing documentation and reports
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Technology or another relevant field
- Extensive relevant experience may compensate for the lack of formal education
Required Work Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience with maintenance and modification work
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with offshore processing systems
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as PTIL, NORSOK, and API standards
